Veena is a plucked string musical instrument with four main melodic strings and three auxiliary strings and is considered one of India's most ancient string instruments. Veena evolved from the Sanskrit term vana. Veena can produce pitches in a full three-octave range. And is a principal instrument used in Carnatic classical music.
Veena has 24 frets, four melodic strings on the frets, and three auxiliaries on the side.

I started learning to play Veena at 12 and have played since then for 30+ years now.
I have performed in several concerts, both solo, and in groups. I have started taking foundation veena lessons for students of all ages and have had much pleasure doing so.
